🏭 Industry: Manufacturing Sector
🛠️ Service: ISO 22301 BCMS
👤 Client: Elevator manufacturing Company Based in Dubai
📅 Duration: 1 months
📆 Year: 2025
⚠️ Challenges:
  • As the Organization had recently initiated the implementation of a Business continuity Management system (BCMS), it faced several early-stage challenges in aligning its operation with ISO 22301:2019 requirements
  • As the audit conducted was through online mode it was challenging that the verification of the documents couldn’t be done at its best
  • The Organization depended on multiple suppliers for critical elevator components. Any disruption in procurement or logistics could directly impact manufacturing output and installation timelines, increasing the importance of robust continuity planning.
  • While documented procedures existed, ensuring that department heads, supervisors, and site teams fully understood and applied BCMS roles during potential disruptions required focused attention.
  • Beyond documentation, with clear evidence that business continuity arrangements were actively implemented, tested, and reviewed across manufacturing, installation, and maintenance operations.
💡 Solution:
  • To address the challenges associated with the recent implementation and low maturity of the BCMS, We suggested a structured, phased, and practical approach aligned with ISO 22301:2019 requirements.
  • We reassessed critical business processes, dependencies, and disruption scenarios relevant to elevator parts manufacturing and installation. Recovery time objectives (RTOs) were validated against actual operational needs, and risks related to supply chain interruptions, equipment failure, manpower availability and site constraints were re-evaluated to ensure continuity strategies remained practical and effective.
  • Existing business continuity plans, procedures, and records were refined to improve clarity, usability, and audit readiness. Roles and responsibilities were clearly defined, escalation and communication mechanisms were strengthened, and documentation was aligned with real operational practices while maintaining strict document control and version management.
  • We supported the Organization in planning and documenting BCMS testing through tabletop exercises and realistic disruption scenarios. Outcomes were analyzed, lessons learned were recorded, and corrective actions were implemented, clearly demonstrating continual improvement and effective system maintenance.
  • We prepared teams through a mock audit and provided on-site support during the surveillance audit to ensure smooth coordination and confident audit interactions.
📈 Results:
  • With the proper guidance we helped the client for successfully achieving the ISO 22301:2019 certification. Within the planned project timeline. A fully established and functional BCMS, moving from an initial implementation stage to a practical, operational system.
  • The introduction of job safety analysis, permit-to-work systems, and daily toolbox talks resulted in a strong safety culture on all installation sites.
  • Standardized installation procedure’s, method statements, and stage-wise inspection checklists reduced errors and rework during installation, As a result the average installation duration per elevator unit was reduced by approximately 30%, enabling timely project completion and improved resource utilization.
  • Management and key operational teams showed improved understanding of business continuity roles, escalation mechanisms, and response actions, resulting in confident audit interactions and improved internal readiness.
  • Improved identification and management of supplier and third-party dependencies strengthened continuity planning and reduced vulnerability to external disruptions.
  • Structured preparation and on-site consulting support ensured a smooth audit process with minimal impact on production schedules, installation activities, and customer commitments.
💬 Testimonial:

“As a matter of fact that there exists some gaps as a part of the initial stages The implemented BCMS has significantly strengthened our preparedness and resilience We are satisfied with the system in place and remain committed to maintaining it effectively on an ongoing basis. And we are truly appreciating the consultancy for providing their valuable suggestions to improve our management system standard.” – QA/QC Engineer
